I just returned from a year in Spain and logged some chilly miles while the rest of the world seems to be baking. Despite the occasional June snow flurry, Jackson Hole is one of my favorite places. I couldn’t be happier to be back and surrounded by my beloved Wyoming wilderness.
With the July 4 holiday this week, we’ll celebrate 250 years of our great nation. I still remember our bicentennial, parked on a hill in Salem, Oregon, mesmerized by the first major fireworks display I’d ever seen.
A lot has changed since then, but our essence is still the same. Our passion for innovation, freedom, and self-determination continues to make America a beacon.
As we gather with friends and family to toast our country, we should remember how lucky we are to be part of this 250-year experiment. I’ve lived all over and while I’ve loved almost every place I’ve been, I can tell you that America is truly special.
